5 Hard Plastic 1950s Christmas Candy Containers, Santa Ornaments
A nice collection of five different hard plastic Santa Claus candy containers and Christmas ornaments from the 1950s. The Rosen standing Santa with green sleigh is 4 inches high by about 5 inches long. The red and white Santa in sleigh with leaping reindeer is 5 inches long and has a small opening at the back for candy canes or lollipops. The Rosen waving Santa has openings in his curved elbow and mittened hand for candy - no hanger but he stands up by himself. The other two Santas are ornaments with hanging loops at the top - they both stand up fine as well. All five pieces are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, breaks, damage, or excessive wear.
Bradford 1950s Plastic Christmas Ornaments With Tree Topper
An assortment of 20 retro hard plastic Christmas ornaments including an indent spire tree topper, all made by Bradford Novelty in the late 1950s to early 1960s. Two of the caged or window pane shapes are filled with angel hair - the bell and the green teardrop. The two similar round ornaments have plastic bells hanging inside. There are 3 stencil scene and 2 filigree or cutout bells, 2 metallic copper and gold colored indent ornaments, a ribbed barrel, a faceted blue disco ball, and six round ornaments with various cutout and filigree designs. The angel-hair filled bell has lost most of its colored metallic finish. The base of the tree topper also has some finish loss, it shouldn't be noticeble on the tree. I don't see any breaks or chips to the ornaments.
Box 12 Red White Blue Honeycomb Tissue Bells Christmas Ornaments
A box of one dozen 1950s honeycomb tissue paper bell Christmas ornaments in red, white, and light blue. They're about 2-1/2 inches high, dusted with large-flake gold glitter at the tops and around the bottoms. Each has a gold cord hanger with foil Made in Japan label still attached. The bells are in excellent condition with no damage, just some loose glitter flakes in the bottom of the box. There is no lid.
German Erzgebirge, Swedish, Italian, And Other Wood Christmas Ornaments
A collection of vintage wooden Christmas ornaments from around the world: Sweden, Germany, Italy, and other places. Several are from the Erzgebirge region of East Germany, including the partial smoker (missing the bottom and half the mustache), the two angels on the crescent moon and shooting star (paint wear to the tops of their heads), and the horse drawn wagon (wheels need to be re-glued). There's also a tomte-type gnome in wooden clogs, a boy in a leather-brimmed baseball cap on a rocking horse, an intricately crafted sailboat, Swedish rocking horse, and 3 Italian choir or altar boys. Other ornaments include a nutcracker soldier, two different angels, one with pyrographic or wood-burned decoration, a girl in a bonnet with flowered apron and fruit basket, a girl riding a big goose, a German Santa, and a hand carved Peruvian iron cross type symbol. The little Heidi type doll was stored with the collection, presumably the original owner hung her on the Christmas tree with the other ornaments. Expect normal wear and tear, any major or noticeable damage is mentioned above.
Red Green Shiny Brite Bumpy Flower Indent Glass Christmas Ornament
This unusual silvered Shiny Brite glass Christmas ornament was made in the late 1930s to early 1940s. It's about 2-1/2 diameter and has a beaded or bumpy texture with flower indents on both sides. Most are found in solid colors but this one has green gel tinted color at the top and bottom with bright pink or red at the centers. The ornament is in excellent condition with bold color. There is no damage, spotting, or wear.
1930s American Made Blown Glass Shapes Christmas Ornaments
These four silvered glass Christmas ornaments are not often found. They were made in the USA in the 1930s, probably by Premier Glass Works. American ornament manufacturers did not produce blown glass ornaments for long as they found it too labor intensive and costly. The hand painted decoration soon gave way to simpler, mostly machine-made design as well for the same reason. Two are teardrop shapes, 4 and 4-1/4 inches long. Both have white comma-stroke painted leaf decoration separated by orange or faded purple vertical stripes. The other two ornaments are stylized balloon or parachute type shapes. One has four thumbprint oval indents around the center with white comma-stroke leaves and maroon red vertical lines around the top. The other has ribbed panels at the lower half, the top is decorated in a similar manner as the thumbprint indent. All four ornaments are in marvelous condition for being more than 70 years old. The finishes and silvering of the old Premier ornaments usually held up very well over the years, and these are no exception - they're so reflective and shiny it was extremely difficult to photograph them. With the exception of the faded purple color on the one teardrop, the paint is still in great condition with little if any wear. They're scarce and wonderful pieces of American Christmas history.
12 Shiny Brite Large Bells Glass Christmas Ornaments
One dozen classic Mid Century glass Christmas bell ornaments by Shiny Brite. These are the large size, 3 inches tall. Seven have horizontal rings or stripes, some in gold or mica glitter, others in white and pastel painted colors. The gold bell with blue, pink, and white stripes has quite a bit of snow flocking (didn't those home spray flocking kits mention that the flocking should be done before the tree was decorated?). One bell is a shaded rainbow or tie-dye style in pinks, golds, and reds. The other four are solid colors of red and gold - these have some finish wear, scratches or fading of the color as shown. None have any chips or breaks.
1920s Japan Small Embossed Star Disc Christmas Ornaments
These two mercury silvered glass Christmas ornaments were made in Japan in the 1920s. They're small feather tree size, just 1-1/2 inches diameter. Red painted raised 5-point stars decorate the centers on both sides. The ornaments have some finish wear to the red paint and one is less reflective than the other due to age deterioration of the inner silvering. No chips or breaks.
German Apple Core, Church Outdent, Triple Indent Christmas Ornaments
Three fancy blown glass ornaments in earth tone colors of dark green, rust red, yellow, and silver from Germany and Eastern Germany, circa late 1930s and post-war late 1940s. The East Germany ornament is an outdent , with an embossed village church scene in raised relief at the center. It measures 3 inches diameter and has a snowcap or snow frost decoration at the top in white and clear mica glitter. The teardrop triple indent is 4 inches high. The three embossed center indents are so deep they almost touch each other at the inside center. The metal cap is marked Germany, dating the ornament to the 1930s (probably late 30s based on the colors). The apple core shape is a little over 3-1/2 high. There's a little silvering loss to the lower section and bulb finial, causing a milky white appearance. The steel cap isn't marked, it could date to either pre-or post war Germany. I had terrible lighting conditions when I took the pictures, sorry for the off colors and yellowish tint.
12 German Blown Glass 1930s Indent Christmas Ornaments
One dozen thin blown glass indented Christmas ornaments from 1920s and 1930s Germany, all smaller sized from 1-1/2 inches to 2 diameter - ideal for table top or feather trees. Most of the centers have embossed flower or star pattern. One ornament is actually from Poland according to the metal cap, another is a double indent teardrop shape. A few have loss of the inner mercury silvering, causing a semi-transparent effect, and there is mild finish wear to the paint. No chips or breaks.

Scrap Angel On White Hot Air Balloon Wired German Glass Christmas Ornament
This lovely old German double bulb balloon glass Christmas ornament is 5-1/2 inches high. It's unsilvered with an opaque flat off-white finish, and is wrapped in thin gold crinkled wire. An embossed scrap paper angel or cherub rider holding a flower garland is attached to the stem. The ornament has been well cared for and is in very good condition with no breaks or chips. There are some rubs to the white painted finish on the glass from the wires and a small pink transfer mark from storage on the back. The angel has no tears or damage. The wire wrapping has shifted a bit in the back and there is one loose wire end. The metal cap is marked Germany.
1950s Bradford Plastic Cutout Spire Christmas Tree Topper
A hard to find cutout plastic filigree spire tree topper, made in the USA by Bradford Novelty in the 1950s. It's bright metallic blue with a candle lantern framed in holly and berries on both sides and measures 8-1/4 inches high. There are no breaks or chips but there are a couple of spots where the metallic finish has worn or flaked off, the largest is a 1/4 area to the center of the spire tip, shown in the second photo.
6 Shabby Antique Tinsel, Wire, And Glass Victorian Christmas Ornaments
These six antique German tinsel and wire-wrapped Christmas ornaments are old and shabby but they look beautiful on a Victorian style tree. The four tinsel ornaments are made with wired tinsel garland and have glass double piked bead type ornaments. About 3-1/2 to 4-3/4 diameter or long. The clover shape has some old melted green candle wax drippings on the tinsel. The wire-wrapped long pike silvered red ball has quite a bit of finish wear due to rubbing of the coiled and crinkled wire wrappings. It's 3-1/2 high by about 2 inches diameter. The wire-wrapped basket is 5 inches to the top of the red chenille handle. I'm not sure that this ornament is as old as the others - it was a popular style from the Victorian era to the 1950s. The beaded and ribbed glass basket is mostly transparent due to degradation of the inner silvering and the ornament is quite dusty but the chenille doesn't look antique to me. One price for all six ornaments.
1950s Green Glass Bead Christmas Garland Mint In Package 9 Feet
This 9 foot long glass bead Christmas tree garland is mint and unused in its original sealed package, made in Japan in the 1950s. The small single beads are about 3/16th of an inch diameter roughly 4.5 mm). There are no broken or chipped beads that I can see, and no glass shards in the bottom of the bag.
1950s Gold Glass Bead Christmas Garland Mint In Package 9 Feet
This 9 foot long glass bead Christmas tree garland is mint and unused in its original sealed package, made in Japan in the 1950s. The single beads are about 1/4 inch diameter (6.35 mm). Some have a frosty appearance to the finish from age deterioration of the inner silvering which gives the garland a slightly shaded, antique appearance. I see a few tiny glass chips at the bottom of the bag, not many.
