This is a lovely piece of Victorian glass. It is hand blown with a nicely finished top that is handpainted with gold paint. The name of this style glass is called rainbow glass due the the swirling pastel stripes that wrap around the piece. It is called a celery vase because Victoian woman used this to hold cut celery in water to keep it fresh longer. Click on the picture for a look at the pontil. There is a bit of wear on the gold rim but nothing gross. Condition is excellent. Measures 6 inches tall with a 3 1/2 inch opening. |
