This is a lovely hard to find Satsuma Empress Face tea set. Pearl luster with gold trim and transfers. All pieces are in excellent condition! No chips, cracks or age marks. This set consists of a 6 1/2 inch tea pot with cover. Cream and covered sugar, 3 1/2 inches tall and 6 cups and saucers. The tea cups have the imprint of the Empress of China in the bottom. When you hold the cup up to the light you can see her face imprinted in the bottom. The picture does not due this justice. When you hold the cup up you can see her face clearly in a dark grey pattern on the bottom. I have included a picture of it but it is very faint. Click on the picture for more pictures, then scroll down for the close ups. Tea cups measure 2 inches tall. This delicate set is a very rare find! A real conversation piece. |
