Very nice 4 section tidbit tray with a bamboo handle. Marked Handpainted in Japan..red laurel leaf mark. Lovely orange and gold floral designs. Very nice for a Harvest or Thanksgiving table. Perfect condition. It is about 6 1/2" in diameter.

 

Made in Japan,Black Collectible and a Tobacciania item. There, did we get it all? What category to choose for this nice Japanese porcelain figural smoking set. Features 3 black men climbing over a fence and on the other side are three holders...one for ashes, one for cigarettes and one for the butts. Very good condition . No cracks, chips or niks. Marked only Japan, could be pre-war, but more likely early 50's. Very colorful, and today would make a nice planter for miniature cactus, for example. The item measures about 6" long and maybe 3" tall.
 

Way cool family of three brightly colored parrots or parakeets perched on a limb between two hollow tree stumps. The stumps on either side serve as the vases. No chips or cracks in this vintage ceramic piece by Goldcastle, one of the better Made in Japan marks. Piece measures 9 x 5 3/8 and dates from early 50's. A cheery addition to any room.
 

Unlikely combination of a donkey or pony and a violin/cello used as a pin cushion. Originally, the space on the top of the violin had a pin cushion pillow. This piece is shown in the Occupied Japan reference guides, but this one looks like it is marked in black, simply "Made in Japan" on the bottom, and JAPAN is also impressed in the back. It is from the same era in any case. Just shy of 3" long and 2 1/2 high to his ears. Good condition, no cracks or chips.
 

Attractive ceramic vase made in the Majolica style with a basket weave background and raised vases of flowers, but this one is marked Japan. Hand painted and finished with a crackled type glazing. We believe the mark is pre-war. A little different with it's 3 openings simulating a strawberry pot. Stands 5 1/4 high. no chips or cracks.
 

Cute as a button, this pixie - elf will hold a tiny kitchen windowsill herb or miniature plant in his flower cart. Popular in the mid 50's, many of these were made in Japan or Occupied Japan, and while this one is not marked, he probably had a paper label identifying him from that time period. He looks a little like one of Snow White's dwarfs, too. Perfect condition, no cracks or chips. .
 

Lovely piece of vintage Kutani porcelain with characteristic hand painted red and gold work. Scene features a woman with baby, her pleading husband and a master or overlord of some type. The rear has florals and mountain scene. The very thick dauber was used to dip into the honey and then swirl it around in hot tea. The pot stands not quite 4 1/2" to top of the dauber, and about 2 3/4" diameter. The only apologies we can find to mention are some small nicks at the rim of the jar and the lid which are virtually invisible when the lid is in place. The pot has considerable wear on the base, leading one to the conclusion that it could be fairly old. We generally ship to domestic customers by USPS Priority Mail, so buyer will add $ 5.20 plus applicable insurance.
 

Very attractive oriental eagle decorates this substantial vase. Stands 11 high and is 9 diameter at it's widest point. Glaze is so high that it almost looks like cobalt glass. Perfect for a showy display of dried flowers not only because of it's design, but it would take quite a bit to tip it over as it weighs quite a bit. Original paper label still on bottom reads 'ASAHI JAPAN".
 

Beautifully colored, hand painted vintage demitasse/coffee serving set consisting of the covered pot, covered sugar, and creamer (which was not made with a lid), all pieces in absolutely great condition. There are no cracks or nicks, and only a limited amount of normal age wear to the lids and handles and a few imperfection in the glaze. The turquoise and yellow is bright and cheerful and set off nicely by the silver luster trim on the lids and handles which creates a nice divide between the two colors. The pieces are marked..." hand paint..made in japan" ... with the double T, double diamond mark, we believe them to be from the early 1950's. The pot with lid stands 7", the sugar and creamer 4" and 4 1/2", respectively, the bases are 2" in diameter.
