2831
No it is not your eyes, this little piece of Northwood is crooked, a small piece of errata bent while the glass was still warm. All the more interesting for it's flaw. Pretty little sherbet, custard cup or small compote. Whatever you call it, it is a lovely green with that amber irridesence on the inside. No chips, nicks etc.

This covered butter dish is not original carnival glass, but it is vintage...late 50's/60's I believe. This pattern called HERITAGE is still being made by the L E Smith Glass Co, but no longer in this iridescent Carnival Blue. It is signed LS and is in perfect condition. The base is 6" diameter and it stands 5" to the tip of the lid. Very well done piece and displays well..We generally ship to domestic customers by USPS Priority Mail, so buyer will add $5.20 plus applicable insurance.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 2233: CARNIVAL ~HUGE COMPOTE & 6 SHERBETS~MARIGOLD
Click for more detail...
2233
These little carnival ribbed sherbets appear quite often, but NOT with the Mother Ship...a very large footed compote standing 7 3/4" high. The diameter of the large bowl is 7 1/2" and the pedestal base is 4 3/4". All pieces have iridescent marigold bowls and clear glass stems. The compote has a ribbed stem, the 6 sherbets, solid ones. The sherbets are 3 3/4" tall x 4" diameter. What a fabulous set to make it's debut on your Thanksgiving table filled with cranberry sauce! Highly festive and perfect fall color! All pieces are free of cracks or chips, although there is some rim roughness on the bases of a couple of small ones, fairly common in this type of glass. There are no marks on any of the pieces, but the compote might be Imperial's Wide Rib. Shipping will depend on buyer's address as the weight exceeds the 5lb standard Priority limit. Insurance extra.

Click for more detail...
1990
Gorgeous purple plum colored 10" Carnival Vase in the TREE TRUNK pattern from Northwood glass. It is signed with the famous Northwood "N" on the bottom. The piece is in perfect condition...no cracks or nicks to the flutes at the top, or anywhere else for that matter. The iridescence is superb and when held to the light reveals it's "inner beauty". This is a much richer purple than most of the books call amethyst so we are not sure if it is an amethyst variation, or a truly separate color. No matter, it is beautiful regardless of what it is called.
