Must-have first book for the first-time horse owner, or anyone who contemplates getting a horse. The book covers pros and cons of owning, what breed is best for you, basic equipment, grooming, rooming, riding, basic vet care and so much more. Written by Virginia Phelps Clemens, of New Hope, Pa. long-time horse owner and trainer. The hard cover book is a first edition, and was published in 1991 by Prentice Hall Equestrian Books. A little warped from poor storage, but the jacket, cover and pages are all in fine, crisp, unread condition .... no tears, no stains, no writing, etc. The only distraction is the front and back bottom corners which are soft.
