Camp Funston World War I Silk Handkerchief
Silk handkerchief, 9.5 inches by 10.5 inches. Handkerchief is printed with a blue design that reads Greetings, Camp Funston, with a flag design and a picture of a soldier holding his sweetheart. Caption under the picture reads For The Flag and You and is accompanied by a poem that indicates the soldier would like to be home. Handkerchief has embroidered flags in one corner. This item appears to be something a soldier would send his sweetheart while he was away at training. Handkerchief has handwriting on it near one corner that reads E. Andre, FF. Handkerchief also has red color bleed around the flags and one red spot near the opposite corner where the corners were folded together and the color bled through. Handkerchief also has fold creases and a couple of stray threads. No holes or runs.
