Rare Ormolu Wavecrest Ewer
This highly decorative piece goes back to your great-great-grandma's time!
Made by the C.F. Monroe Company, it is approximately 16.75 inches tall, 7 inches across the handles and 5 inches in diameter.
The neck and base are ormolu metal (check out the Green Man on the neck!)and the glass section is hand-painted with little cherubs sitting on a flowering branch.
We rate it in very good condition, because the metal sections are all intact, but there is a slight amount of wear to the top of the glass where the metal fitter probably slid around and also some minor loss of paint on the cherubs, hardly noticeable.
A wonderful collector's item!
