Gigi Limited Edition Plate
Gigi is the first issue in the Gigi series of limited-edition collector’s plates, created on fine Limoges porcelain and bearing the hallmark of D’Arceau-Limoges and the only collector’s plate series issued under the official auspices of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for the Oscar-winning film. Painted by Jean Claude Guidou exclusively for this collection and issued in an edition closed forever after one hundred firing days.

The Impressionistic background of bright spring blossoms is perfect, for this Gigi is herself an unopened flower. Her pose is buoyant; in a moment, it seems, she will leap up and dance away. Her figure appears almost weightless and the vigor of M. Guidou’s line in her hat, hair, and blouse seems to left her bodily from the bench that provides her only anchor. Brochures printed in French, German and English detailing all the fine points and history of the painting and the artist are included to enhance your enjoyment of this artistic work.

Bradex No. 18-D15-9.1. 1985 - Plate No. LI164. Diameter: 8 1/2". Plate has never been displayed and is in mint condition. Original box, Certificate of Authenticity, and afore-mentioned brochures included – all in mint condition. Original paperwork, promotional material, and the brown wrapping paper that covered the shipping box, with two colorful French postage stamps and one regular stamp from 1985 affixed, also included.

Bonaparte traversant les Alpes Limited Edition Plate
Bonaparte traversant les Alpes "Bonaparte crossing the Alps" is the second issue in the Joséphine and Napoléon series of limited-edition collector’s plates celebrating the Grand Passion that changed the face of Europe. Painted by French artist Claude Boulmé and created on fine Limoges porcelain bearing the hallmark of D’Arceau-Limoges.

"Bonaparte traversant les Alpes is a portrait of Napoléon himself – he rides a horse compounded of fire, wind, and steel – such a mount as no other man could master – but his control is not in doubt. He is Napoléon Bonaparte, soon to be Emperor of France, already master of Joséphine’s heart." Comment by L. W. Poco, Artist and Writer – just a small portion of the comments in the detailed brochures printed in French and English detailing all the fine points and history of the painting, the artist, and the maker to enhance your enjoyment of this artistic work. An excerpt from Joséphine’s letter to a friend about Napoléon is also in the brochure.

Bradex No. 18-D15-7.2 1985 - Plate No. BX502. Diameter: 8 1/2". Plate has never been displayed and is in mint condition. Original box, Certificate of Authenticity, and afore-mentioned brochures included – all in mint condition. Joséphine and Napoléon Le Divorce Limited Edition Plate
Le Divorce "The Divorce" is the fifth issue in the Joséphine and Napoléon series of limited-edition collector’s plates celebrating the Grand Passion that changed the face of Europe. Painted by French artist Claude Boulmé and created on fine Limoges porcelain bearing the hallmark of D’Arceau-Limoges.

"The price of greatness can be cruel, even to an Emperor. Across the length and breadth of Europe Napoléon has proclaimed his devotion to his beloved Joséphine. He has even placed the crown of Empress upon her head. But there is one thing she cannot give him in return: an heir. And so, after agonizing for two long years, the heartbroken Emperor finally faces his bitter obligation to put the welfare of his nation before that of his own marriage. Joséphine, though, is in no mood to understand the imperatives of mere politics; for as she hands back the divorce papers with her signature, her eyes reflect the crushing pain of love withdrawn." Comment by L. W. Poco, Artist and Writer – just a small portion of the comments in the detailed brochures printed in French and English detailing all the fine points and history of the painting, the artist, and the maker to enhance your enjoyment of this artistic work.

Bradex No. 18-D15-7.5 1985 - Plate No. LN155. Diameter: 8 1/2". Plate has never been displayed and is in mint condition. Original box, Certificate of Authenticity, and afore-mentioned brochures included – all in mint condition. Original paperwork, promotional material, and the brown wrapping paper that covered the shipping box, with six colorful French postage stamps from 1985 affixed, also included.

Joséphine & Napoléon Le Souvenir Limited Edition Plate
Le Souvenir "The Memory" is the sixth and final issue in the Joséphine and Napoléon series of limited-edition collector’s plates celebrating the Grand Passion that changed the face of Europe. Painted by French artist Claude Boulmé and created on fine Limoges porcelain bearing the hallmark of D’Arceau-Limoges.

"The Emperor Napoléon has already lost the one true love in his life – the beautiful Joséphine – and divorced her, for the good of the nation, because she could not bear his heir. Now, despite this sacrifice, the enemies of France have succeeded in their bloody campaign to drive Napoléon off the map of continental Europe. But even as he is stripped of his throne and exiled to the island of Elba, his parting thoughts are with his beloved. As Joséphine reads his final letter, her serene smile tells us much about this woman and the man who once placed the French crown on her head………….she, too, still cares." Comment by L. W. Poco, Artist and Writer – just a small portion of the comments in the detailed brochures printed in French and English detailing all the fine points and history of the painting, the artist, and the maker to enhance your enjoyment of this artistic work.

Bradex No. 18-D15-7.6 1986 - Plate No. LC272. Diameter: 8 1/2". Plate has never been displayed and is in mint condition. Original box, Certificate of Authenticity, and afore-mentioned brochures included – all in mint condition.
