White Porcelain Insulator U-73
U-73 porcelain insulator made by Pittsburg High Voltage Insulator Co. in the 1910s at Derry, PA glazed in a matte grayish-white glaze. The bottom edge looks as though a knife was used to "slice" off some of the porcelain, but it is fully glazed and apparently this was done during production. There is a dark line on the interior of the skirt, but I don't think it is a crack – at least you cannot feel it by running a fingernail over it. Any flaws, if they can be called that, I believe were made during production, except for the stains which likely were acquired post-production.
