Click for more detail... 292	Pressed Glass Card Receiver or Tidbit Dish Not sure what this beautiful vintage dish is called, perhaps just a tidbit or banana dish, but it is like the glass card receiver dishes used in the days when calling cards were customary. Calling cards, also called visiting cards, were presented by a caller when visiting a person's home and placed in a card receiver. Many card receiver dishes were folded dishes, like this one, while others were small flat trays. Pattern name and maker of this vintage card receiver or tidbit dish is unknown, but it has a very attractive, intricate design. A few of the points are nicked (see extra images) - not immediately noticeable except upon close inspection. Other than that, this card receiver dish is otherwise in excellent condition. The white is not a pure white – there is just the slightest hint of a greenish hue and the rim is more translucent than the rest of the lid. The outside diameter is 5 5/8" and it fits a 5 1/4" opening. This knobbed lid is in excellent condition with no nicks, chips or cracks and no visible surface scratches.
