03S008

VINTAGE LARGE SIGNED MEXICAN STERLING SILVER & CARVED WOOD EAGLE'S HEAD SERVING SPOON This is a wonderful hand made wood and sterling silver serving spoon. It is marked M R, 925, Sterling, Mexico on it. According to a book by Fred Rezazadeh, MR is thought to have been active between 1940 and 1960 and was a designer and silversmith in the Emma Melendez shop. This spoon has a dark wooden handle which looks like rosewood which has been carved into the head of an eagle. He has red beads for eyes. The spoon measures 12 inches long. It is in excellent condition with no problems that I can find other than it may need polishing. I offer a 7-day money back guarantee. All methods of payment are accepted, however, checks must clear before shipping. Credit cards are accepted through PayPal. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for stopping by.

05S1569

ANTIQUE HANDMADE STERLING SILVER SUGAR SHELL SPOON MARKED D23 This is a unique antique sterling silver sugar shell or spoon. It appears to be handmade. I have been told it is possibly an old Gorham pattern. The only marks on the spoon are STERLING and D23. The sterling is hand stamped and the N was stamped backwards. The end of the spoon is a loop that twists back around the handle. The spoon measures 5-1/4 inches long and the shell is 1-1/4 inches at the widest point. It weighs 17.7 grams. The spoon is in good condition but does have a slight patina and could use additional polishing. I offer a 7-day money back guarantee. All methods of payment are accepted, however, checks must clear before shipping. Credit cards are accepted through PayPal. The buyer is responsible for shipping and handling costs and I am happy to combine costs for multiple purchases. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for stopping by.

05J1847

VINTAGE JAPAN 950 STERLING SILVER LADIES COMPACT - ARTIST SIGNED This is a vintage Japanese compact marked Silver 950. It also has the artist's signature on the back but I don't read Japanese so I can't tell you the name. The compact has a picture of a snow covered mountain, hills, a sailboat in a harbor and a temple or house. The back has a hill and another boat but you can only see the sail. The mountain, hills and temple appear to have copper highlighting on them. The compact has a beveled edge mirror on the inside. The compact measures 2 inches in diameter and weighs 37.4 grams. It is in good condition with no denting but it does have an age patina that I have not polished.

Click for more detail...
09S3038

PAIR OF VICTORIAN SILVER KNIFE REST WITH STANDING LIONS - BOOK PIECES These are two Victorian silver knife rests. These exact knife rests can be found on page 162 of Antique Trader's Metalwares Price Guide which was edited by Kyle Husfloen. The knife rests are not marked and I believe they are silverplate. A magnet will NOT stick to them. They have a rampant lion on each end with a twisted rope between them. The lions are very detailed. The bases have flowers on them. They measure 2 inches by 2-3/8 inches by 4 inches. Each knife rest weighs 177.4 grams. The knife rests are in good condition but may need cleaning or polishing. I purchased these at an estate sale and was told that the woman had bought them at the London Silver Vault. However, I do not have any documentation to back this up. The knife rests are beautiful and I apologize for the problem with my pictures.

Click for more detail...
07S2606

ANTIQUE 1850'S REPOUSSE STERLING SILVER SALT SPOONS - 1 ENGRAVED KITTY & 1 ENGRAVED GEORGE This is a pair of antique individual salt spoons. I purchased these at an estate sale and they came with a note that stated: These 2 miniature salt spoons, sterling silver circa 1850...These came down from three generations to Mr. Lesie N. Iredell. They were a gift to Fernando R. Mesa, Dec. 23, 1964, Tampa, Florida. I have not been able to find any markings on the spoons so I do not know who made them or the metal content. The spoons actually measure 2-1/4 inches long. One has KITTY engraved on the back of the handle and the other has GEORGE. The spoons have a beautiful repousse design on them. I have not cleaned or polished them.
