According to a book by Fred Rezazadeh, MR is thought to have been active between 1940 and 1960 and was a designer and silversmith in the Emma Melendez shop. These exact knife rests can be found on page 162 of Antique Trader's Metalwares Price Guide which was edited by Kyle Husfloen. The knife rests are not marked and I believe they are silverplate. A magnet will NOT stick to them. They have a rampant lion on each end with a twisted rope between them. The lions are very detailed. The bases have flowers on them.
