This is a vintage bakelite brooch of a horse head inside a horseshoe. This brooch has been featured in many books on bakelite jewelry. The brooch is root beer bakelite and has been tested with both Simichrome and Formula 409. The horse has a yellow glass eye and there are brass nails on the horseshoe. The reins are painted on. The brooch measures 2-1/2 inches tall and 2-1/8 inches wide. It is almost 1/4 of an inch thick. The brooch has the original clasp.
