Chaim Herzog (1918 -1997) President of Israel – Signed Photograph 4.25 x 6.50 and in very good condition. Herzog was born in Ireland and immigrated to Palestine in 1935. He served in the Haganah during the Arab riots of 1936-38 and IDF during the 1948 War of Independence. Appointed as Israel’s Ambassador to the UN where he was extremely vocal about a UN resolution equating Zionism with racism. Elected as sixth President of the State of Israel in 1983 and served two terms.

YITZHAK SHAMIR - SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH
Yitzhak Shamir (1915 - ) Prime Minister of Israel – Signed (HEBREW) Photograph 3.5 x 5.0 and in very good condition. Shamir was born in Poland and immigrated to Palestine in 1935. He joined the Irgun (an armed Jewish underground) in order to fight against the Arabs and was subsequently arrested by the British and sent to prison. He escaped and upon return to Israel, and once again became active in clandestine activities to uproot the British. Upon Israel becoming a State, he was involved in a campaign to free Soviet Jews and joined Menachem Begin’s Likud party and assumed the role of Foreign Minister after Moshe Dyan’s resignation. Shamir succeeded Begin as Prime Minister in 1983.
