BLACK BOX - INDEX STOCK 1989 The following pages (125) contain a small selection from the life's work of one man - George Marks. His truly amazing collection spans six decades and depicts the life, times and consciousness of America from the 20s through the 60s as only commercial photography could. Through the medium of stock, not reportage or photo-journalism, Marks provided insight into what people wanted to see rather than what people actually saw.

Images of happy workers with piggy banks and paychecks abound in years when bread lines were the norm. Spiffy soldiers standing at attention appear more apt to show up on the set of a Broadway musical than in a muddy trench. Those agonies which are portrayed, migraines, backaches, allergies, colds and the like, only only the ones in which some manufacturer is certainly to have just the right cure.

Black Box is a collection of over 20,000 model released images, all available for commerical reproduction. The photographs in this book represent the wide variety of subjects in the file.

Published by Index Stock International, in 1989 and in very good condition.

Shipping and postage expense in the U.S. is $3.75 and insurance is optional. We will ship internationally, however there is an extra cost involved.
