Click for more detail...
5CT6901

Our Hampton Heritage Vol 1 No1 Winter 1982 Magazine was published by Elaine Benson, owner of the Elaine Benson Art Gallery in Bridgehampton, New York, considered to be one of the most prominent and influential art galleries in the area (an area with a high concentration of galleries) and a center of social activity in the notably chic Hamptons, frequented by such luminaries as Betty Friedan, Kurt Vonnegut, Sheldon Harnick, Elaine Steinbeck, and Willem de Kooning.

As a resident of the Hamptons for the previous two decades, she had unanswered questions about the brave people who sailed there from Lynn, Mass. in 1640, why had they chosen to leave England, what did they find there when they arrived, how did the Indians receive them, what was the daily life of the Pilgrims in the 17th, 18th centuries, etc.

Contents answer some of the above historical questions, as well as contain photographs of present day decendents who reside in the area.

Elaine Benson passed away in 1998

An extremely interesting 128 page magazine and of enormous interest to present day residents of the New York Hamptons.

In good to very good condition, minor rubbing and cover wear.
