Neat-o BULLET THIMBLE COMPACT Unique VINTAGE Unusual
The outside of this neat little curiosity consists of a thimble with red band base and a goldtone metal shell with painted design. The inside of the metal shell appears to be lined with wood, perhaps a thin balsa, while the inside of the thimble is not lined. The 2 pieces unscrew to reveal the contents within - 2 tiny wooden thread spools on a hollow rod, which doubles as a needle holder. (The rod has a metal cap on it, and when you remove the cap, you can slide the needles out.) The entire bullet measures 2 1/8" long , and unscrews with ease, yet stays snugly closed and will not open up in a sewing kit or pocket.
