- I believe this very unusual pin to be from the Georgian era, but am not positive. It measures approx. 2 5/8" across and is made of what appears to be steel and an amethyst stone set in the center. It has a "C" clasp and an early Tube hinge on the reverse, and is just beautiful! The clasp and hinge are in perfect working condition, although the "pin" itself is a tiny bit bent. The design is a bit off center (see photos), which leads me to believe that this most likely was not european made and may have been made domestically by hand.
