Courtship Platter by Johann Haviland-Bavaria, Germany This lovely oval platter in the Courtship pattern by Johann Haviland is marked: Johann Haviland/Bavaria/Germany on the back.
In 1840, David Haviland, who had a china shop in New York City, made his first trip to France to establish an alliance with a manufacturer who could create pieces of porcelain for the American trade. He eventually settled in Limoges, France to oversee production. He established his own company in 1853 to produce china specifically for the American market. Johann Haviland, the grandson of David Haviland, started his own company in Bavaria, Germany in 1907 and went out of business by 1924.
In very good + condition with red and pink roses against a white porcelain background and gold trim it measures 15 inches long and 10 7/8 inches wide. An addition to any Haviland China Collection.

Enoch Wood's & Son Blue & White Transfer Ware Plate This lovely blue and white transferware English Countryside Scene plate is marked: Enoch Wood's/Wood's Ware/Wood n Son's/England/W/2.
The plate features a horse drawn cart with a man outside a farm house with several people about which is surrounded by a rim full of blooming flowers and leaves. In good + condition it does have a small chip underside the rim of the plate and a hairline age crack, which I have shown in my pictures and it measures 10 inches in diameter. C. Tielsch & Co. Lidded Casserole Dish This vintage covered vegetable/casserole dish is marked: Germany in Blue / #6841.377 / and has a partial mark of C. Tielsch & Co./Altwasser/Germany (1845 until 1917).
One reason for the success of Carl Tielsch straight from the beginning was that he had a very large product range, starting with normal household pieces, going over hotel porcelain and ending with luxury goods. In addition, the facility always had the best designers and decorators. At first, Tielsch only marked his products with the initials TPM which stood for Tielsch Porzellan-Manufaktur which was quite similar to the KPM from the Königlich Preußische Porzellanmanufaktur. But KPM found it was too similar and so the two snakes curling around a stave were added, only to be replaced completely by the eagle from 1847 onwards.
With black designs on yellow bands and gold trim both on the lid and bowl on a white porcelain background, the pattern looks quite modern and ahead of it's time. In very good + condition, without chips, cracks or crazing it does show gold wear on the edges and it measures 5 1/2 inches high, 9 1/4 inches wide and 8 inches deep. Makes a beautiful table display and an addition to any C.Tielsch & Co. China Collection.

Avalon Relish Dish by Lenox USA This cream color china relish dish with gold trim was made Lenox and marked on the bottom: L in a Laurel Wreath / Made in USA.
Walter Scott Lenox founded Lenox, Inc. in 1906. Despite his acute disability, he had become the sole proprietor of a ceramics company and achieved his goal of creating beautiful ivory-tinted porcelain. Upon his death in 1920, Mr. Lenox had created a china legacy that, even today, is renowned the world over for its fine craftsmanship and superior quality.
The cream color dish with gold trim around the rim is exquisitely done. In very good + condition without chips, cracks or color wear it measures 1 5/8 inches high, 9 inches long and 5 1/4 inches wide. An addition to any Lenox China Collection.

Johnson Bros Old Britain Castles Plate This plate of Old Britains Castles is marked: Johnson Bros England / Old Britains Castles / All Decorations Under the Glaze Permanent and Acid Resisting Colors. With a scene on the front of Blarney Castle in 1792 in the center in colors of light and dark browns with a tint of green, red, blue and orange on an white background with a flower and leaf pattern all around the edge. In very good condition, without chips, cracks or fleabites it does have 2 manufacturer flaw in the back where it looks like the plate has a line in it which I have shown in my pictures and it measures 10 inches in diameter. Makes a lovely wall display and an addition to any Johnson Bros Plate Collection.

Arnart Pearlized China Victorian Scene Bowls This beautiful pair of china bowls with different decals of Victorian couples in the center have the Arnart Original Creations bee hive mark on the bottom with the #55/391. From the 1950s they are done in pearlized china, the outside rim looks greenish blue with gold flowers around the edges with a very colorful decal of a Victorian Couple in the center. On one of the plates the decal does show age wear, which I have tried to show in my pictures and they measure 1 1/2 inches high, 7 1/2 inches by 8 inches. At first look they appear to be large ashtrays with the gold indents on either side but these are too pretty to be ashtrays and make a great wall display together. An addition to any Arnart China Collection.
