Sebastian Motif #1 Plate by Prescott W. Basto This beautiful porcelain plate with pewter rim is the First Edition Plate in the series America's Favorite Scenes; issued by Sebastian Miniatures and Artist signed on the back by Prescott W. Baston.
According to Dr.Glenn Johnson's Book, The Sebastian Miniature Collection. Prescott W. Baston had designed large and miniature figurines, plaques and even Christmas Ornaments. He had never before produced a Sebastian Miniature Plate. In February 1978, a snowstorm had destroyed Motif #1, the Rockport Massachusetts fishing shack reputed to be the most painted scene in America. Baston had sold his own Motif #1 miniature since 1950. The Rockport Artists League asked him to contribute his talents to raise funds for restoring the famous building. He created a bas relief portrait of the Rockport scene, cast it in bonded porcelain, and Lance cast it with fine pewter.
Issued as a limited edition of 10,000, the sales resulted in a substantial contribution to the League and the building was soon restored. Of the 10,000 only 4,878 were made.
Mint in it's original box the plate in rich colors of brown, orange, red, green and greys is numbered #219 and measures 8 7/8 inches in diameter. A wonderful addition to any Sebastian Miniature or Prescott W. Baston Collection.

Bing & Grondahl Christmas Eve at the Whitehouse Plate This beautiful 1987 Plate, Christmas Eve at the Whitehouse, is from the continuing Christmas in America Collection by Bing & Grondahl Copenhagen Porcelain.
Bing & Grøndahl was a Danish porcelain manufacturer founded in 1853 by the sculptor Frederik Vilhelm Grøndahl and merchant brothers Meyer Hermann Bing and Jacob Herman Bing. When they introduced their under glaze blue decorations in 1886, for the first time Royal Copenhagen had competition. Bing & Grondahl introduced their annual Christmas plates beginning in 1895. Royal Copenhagen introduced their Christmas plates in 1908. In 1987 the company merged with its primary competitor, the Royal Porcelain Factory under the name Royal Copenhagen.
Marked on the back: Production of this plate is limited to the year 1987. The original art was painted excluseively for Bing & Grondahl by Jack Woodson / Purveyor to Her Majesty The Queen of Denmark / 9787 / Plate no. 7. 610 F / Bing & Grondahl.

Peanuts Mothers Day Plate First Edition 1972 This adorable Limited First Edition Plate from the Peanuts Family Collector Series featuring Linus was designed by Charles Schultz and released by TM Schmid in 1972. Linus has a big red rose in his hand and a smile. Mother's Day 1972 is printed around bottom of plate and signed Schulz. On the back it is marked: The Peanuts Family Collector Series/Limited First Edition 1972/Mother's Day Plate/Designed and Created by Charles Schulz/1972 United Features Syndicate, Inc. with a paper label that says Made in Japan. In the original box which has some wear, the 7 1/2 inch plate has 2 tiny marks on the rim that the color did not take under the glaze.
