Swedish American Line Clear Glass Ashtray
This clear glass advertising ashtray with frosted glass bottom is a souvenir from the Swedish American Line Cruise Ship. Marked with the 3 crowns emblem and line name embossed under them it was made c1950s. The Swedish American Line was founded in November 1914 by the Swedish ship owner Dan Broström. The ports of call were Göteborg (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark) and/or Oslo (Norway), Halifax (Canada), and New York, N.Y. As cruise liners, the ships were renowned for their beauty, luxury comfort, and the highest quality service provided by the Swedish crew. The name Rockefeller appeared on the passenger list more than once. After 60 successful years, the company's passenger ship operations were dissolved in 1975, suffering severely from a weakened cruise market. In good condition one of the corners is chipped off as you can see in the pictures and it measures 7/8 inches tall and 2 3/4 inches square. With triple collector quality, it would be a great addition to any Tobacciana, Cruise Line or Advertising Ashtray Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed.
