This black and white antique Magic Lantern Glass Slide of Students at Military School in Japan is from the early 1900's.
The Magic Lantern or Sciopticon was an early form of slide projector as well as an early form of moving picture. The glass slides used with Magic lanterns were often moved with levers or other contrivances to make these images appear to move.
In very good condition it measures 4 inches by 3 1/4 inches.
