Circa: 1950 Manufacturer: Westmorland Glass Company
This lovely vintage ruffled top amber Bon Bon Dish in the English Hobnail Pattern was made by the Westmorland Glass Company. In the Spring of 1889 a group of investors purchased land for the purpose of constructing a new glass factory. The site located in Grapeville, Pennsylvania adjacent to the Pennsylvania Railroad main line and on a large natural gas field was to become the new home of The Westmoreland Specialty Glass Company. In 1924, the name was officially changed from the Westmoreland Specialty Glass Company to Westmoreland Glass Company, a name that continued until the plant closed in 1983. In very good condition without chips, cracks or fleabites it measures 5 1/4 inches tall, 5 3/4 by 7 1/8 inches across the top and 3 1/4 inches across the base. An addition to any Depression Glass, Amber Glass or Westmorland Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have questions please contact me and thank you for looking.
