This wonderful deck of playing cards advertising Winston Cigarettes made for the RJ Reynolds Company, who also make Camel and Doral Cigarettes, are marked on the box: The U.S. Playing Card Company / Cincinnati, Ohio 45212 / Made in USA / 1993 RJRTC.
R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. is the manufacturer of four of the United States 10 best-selling cigarette brands: Winston, Camel, Salem and Doral.
R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company was founded in 1875, when 25-year-old Richard Joshua Reynolds started a chewing-tobacco manufacturing operation in the town of Winston, North Carolina. (Winston would later merge with the nearby village of Salem, creating the city known today as Winston-Salem.)
The United States Playing Card Company, started in 1867, produces and distributes many brands of playing cards, including Bicycle, Bee, Hoyle, Kem, and others, plus novelty and custom cards, and other playing card accessories such as poker chips. The company was once based in Cincinnati, Ohio, but is now headquartered in Erlanger, Kentucky. It has been a subsidiary of Jarden Corporation since 2004.
