This vintage milk glass condiment bowl in the Paneled Grape Pattern was produced from 1950 to the 1970's and was made by the Westmorland Glass Company and is marked on the bottom with their logo, the W inside the G. In the Spring of 1889 a group of investors purchased land for the purpose of constructing a new glass factory. The site located in Grapeville, Pennsylvania adjacent to the Pennsylvania Railroad main line and on a large natural gas field was to become the new home of The Westmoreland Specialty Glass Company. In 1924, the name was officially changed from the Westmoreland Specialty Glass Company to Westmoreland Glass Company, a name that continued until the plant closed in 1983. In very good condition, without chips, cracks or fleabites the mayonnaise bowl measures 2 3/4 inches tall, 3 1/2 inches across the rim and 2 inches across the base.
