This duck basket is made of very tightly woven material at the front and back end and has a flatter woven material for its middle. The duck's beak is a solid piece of wood. It would make a great basket for magazine's at your cottage on the lake. The open area is approx. 13in. by
9 in. wide and about 5 in. deep. The basket itself is about 17 in. long with the head of the duck about 10 in. high. There appears to be a coat of varnish over the flat material that is woven to make the body of the duck. This item dates from the 60's according the friend who gave it to me. |
