This old pencils eraser is as hard as a rock, but the pencil still works and has lead in it. It is from The Detering Co.-Wholesale Sash and Doors-Building Materials-Builders Hardware in Beaumont(TX, I believe). The phone number is given as 4-6471 so it dates from before exchanges were required and way before area codes. It is mahogany and cream colored. There is a very fine metal screw device inside that pushes out the lead. If you collect old writing utensils look at the other pencils, pens, and leads that I have for sale. |
