Doulton Burslem Flower Frog Gold Filagree Pale Blue Detail
This piece is actually older than the Art Nouveau Era. The mark on the back indicates that it may have been produced as early as 1872. It is a wonderful Antique Flower Frog that has more detail and Gold Accents that we have ever seen on a Flower Frog. Quite Fancy! Perfect Mint Condition, No Chips, Cracks, or wear to the Gold. It has been well cared for. The edges are Raised to make it look like a Flower and are accented with the original Gold paint. The Frog portion that sits inside has 17 larger holes around the outside perimeter with the balance getting smaller toward the center. There are 68 holes total and the one big one right in the center makes 69! The Frog insert is decorated with tiny raised Daisies, stems, leaves, and is absolutely Gorgeous! Collectors Item. We have not seen another anywhere like this Old Beauty. Price is Firm and not part of any Sale.

Eric and Walter Gort migrated to the USA from Hungary and started their China Company in 1944 in Metuchen, New Jersey. Eric was an Artist and Sculpter. Walter was a ceramic engineer. Together they produced some of the highest quality bone china figurines made in America. We believe that Lucinio was the Artist that actually painted this particular piece. It is gorgeous with a nice shiny glaze in Mint Condition with no chips, cracks, or wear. Very lovely Collectible or Gift.
