Antique Victorian Black Silk Cape with Fringe and Embellishment

Antique Victorian Black Cape, circa 1880s, possibly earlier. Inside and out is a black silk twill. It was made by machine and by hand. 6" black fringe around along the bottom is in very good condition. There are embroideries and woven embellishments along the collar, front, and bottom edge and black lace along the front and bottom edge. There are 4 hook and eye closures, intact. It measures 16" long from tip of collar to end of fringe. The neck fits my seven year old. In very good condition, all around, with just some loss along the top of the collar. Insurance is required.

Antique Victorian Black Cape, circa 1889s. Black silk twill with a khaki silk twill inside. Completely made by hand. Several tiers of fringe with some beaded with black glass beads (I do not think they are jet). Closures are missing. It measures 14" long from tip of collar to end of fringe. The neck fits my seven year old. In fair condition, collar is worn and there is some bead loss. Insurance is required.

Antique Victorian Black Silk Cape with Beading and Ruffles

Antique Victorian Black Cape, circa 1890s. Black silk like a taffeta with a zig zag stripe woven in. Inside is a vibrant purple twill silk. It was made by machine and by hand. There is beading (black glass, I do not think they are jet) and black silk rubble ribbon embellishmed on the front, and runs along towards the back. There is 1 hook and eye closure, intact,a dn the top of the collar. It measures 16" long from tip of collar to end of fringe. The collar fits my 13" neck. In good condition, with just some loss along the top of the collar, and the insidle purple silk has some tears and is very fragile. Insurance is required.
