This old metal lamp has black paint with contrasting white on the lense holders. There are 3 red red globe lenses in the lamp which are in excellent condition. The paint appears to be original and has signs of age but nothing more than normal wear. It has a hooked handle for hanging. There is a BAT brand with a picture of bat on the top front. Model number appears to be BS 3143. I am told this is a British-type railroad lantern usually hung on the back end of a train or a backward moving engine. The back door opens to reveal the kerosene holder and wick. It also has the Bat mark with model 3143. This is a truly unique piece and a must have for your collection. |
