This rare item is an antique eye test kit that an Optometrist would use to determine the prescription strength of your eyeglasses. It is made up of 24 lenses and a pair of chrome glasses into which they fit. What is unusual is the shape of the glass, squares instead of circles. The kit is a solid oak dovetailed box with a brass clasp. Green velvet in the lid ensures a tight fit protecting the glass lenses. It is marked F. Davidson & Co. 29 Grt, Portland St. London. The box measures 6.75 by 7.75 by 2 inches. The condition is excellent with no broken lenses. There is a split in the wood of the lid as shown in photo. This is a one of a kind opportunity for your Scientific, Medical collection. |
