This is a box of KVP pie tape made by the Kalamazoo Vegetable Parchment company in Michigan. The box has wear as seen in the pictures. One end of the box is taped. It is almost full of this tape. Supposedly you wet the tape and stretched it around the top of the pie to form a wall so the juice wouldn't run over as it baked. The original price was 25 cents. This was sold at the Famous Barr Department store in St. Louis which still exists today. This KVP Pie Tape would certainly be an unusual addition to any vintage advertising collection. |
