This is a set of two hardcover cookbooks entitled "The Modern Encyclopedia of Cooking, Volume One and Two." They were first written by Meta Given in 1947. This is the 1969 edition. There are 1533 pages in both books combined including the indexes. The jackets have minor wear as seen in the pictures and they have been taped. The books themselves are in very good condition with only slight wear. You might find a pencil note in the margins or a spot or two. I'm saying this in case, but I saw nothing when I thumbed through them. Actually, these books look like they were hardly used. I think every household in the 1940s and 1950s had these cookbooks in their kitchen. This set of Modern Encyclopedia Of Cooking cookbooks written by Meta Given are classic and they will provide you with recipes for years to come.
