This book is the story of Lt. Iliff David Richardson who stayed in the Philippines after Corregidor fell.

The Fall of Japan by William Craig In my humble opinion, one of the best books written about the events that took place during the very last weeks of World War II. Yes, I read this book in in the window seat in the evening while making dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. Craig did a bang up job in presenting the facts while not sacrificing the emotional human side of the story of both the Japanese and the Allied Nations. It should be required reading for history classes.

First book club edition, 1967, published by Dial Press, NY, 368 pp, illustrated with maps and black and white photography. The book is in good condition. there is some wear to the corners and at the bottom of the spine and as you can see by the scan the DJ is tatty.
