742953 which dates to 1931 and so it's afe to assume that the item is most likely an early 1930s piece. Brown transferware Tall trees and Cottage are supplemented with hand painted and enamelled features including Coral Red Poppies and Hollyhocks. I particular like the Garden Path and Gate leading up to the Thatched cottage and there is a real, English Country Garden feel. A green trim finishes the border of the dish and the Queen Anne Partitioned Pedestal. The item has survived in rather remarkable condition. It is totally free of Cracks and chips and the pattern is strong and vibrant against the creamish glaze. The green trims also appear almost entirely intact and only a couple of very minor usage marks can be seen when held against the light and I only mention them for accuracy. A very unusual and cllectable piece form one of Staffordshire's most respected factories.
