Manufacturer: Moorcroft A wonderful piece of Art Pottery from William Moorcroft in the Berries and Leaves design introduced in 1928. Complete with Fittings for Bulb and Shade, this impressive Lamp Base stands a full 23 inches in height with the Pottery element of the lamp some 10.1/2 inches tall and having a maximum width of around 6 inches. The item is mounted on the original Brass Base which is also finely decorated and almost 2 inches in height. The pattern, also known as Autumn Leaves, is of tubelined Leaves in Autumnal hues and complimented by richly coloured seasonal Berries in shades of Deep Purple and Red. With NO cracks, chips or restoration the item is offered in excellent condition and only mild crazing is eveident as would normally be associated with an item of this age.

To be completely accurate there is a small, underglaze speck on the top of the lamp which is a salt sized grain of extra clay from the firing process and does nothing to detract from a wonderful, museum quality item from one of Staffordshire's most renowned Potters. The item has the William Moorcroft facsimile backstamp, A "Potter to Her majesty The Queen" paper label AND the hand written William Moorcroft signature initials! A photograph of these is available on request!
PLEASE NOTE: The item is wired with what appear to be United States fittings. Having said that, I have not tested this item and would strongly recommend it is checked over before use.
Shipping - This is a CONSIDERABLY LARGE item and would need to be packaged securely. I would estimate shipping to be between $60.00-80.00 dependant on destination. This item would also only be shipped FULLY INSURED which could cost a further $15.00-20.00. |
