Early blown syllabub or ?
With round cuts and a polished pontil, this is probably a very early-mid 19th century piece. It’s function, however is uncertain. In fact, I suspect that it was ground off at the top, having once been taller, perhaps an ale glass. In its present condition, it resembles a syllabub with a big foot! In any case, it is leaded, heavy, thick and flinty. Height is 4 ¾", foot 3 ¾", top 2 1/8". Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #434

Depression: Early Fenton Dolphin handled candle dish
This unusual candle holder is in the shape of a boat, with the candle cup in the center. The main pattern is of alternating panels of relief wavy seaweed & frosted straight seaweed. There are 2 tiny dolphin handles on either end. Made by Fenton no. 1621, in 1928-36, there is a manufacturer ground base. A subtle crack in one side of one handle where the dolphin attaches is difficult to see. I tried to picture it, but only by turning the piece over & at different angles can one get the suggestion of a crack. I’m not even sure if this piece didn’t come from the factory that way! Measures 6 ½" long x 4 1/8" wide x 2 ¾" tall. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #357

EAPG: Dugan’s Inverted Fan & Feather white opal bowl 7”
Originally made by Northwood in custard, Inverted Fan & Feather, aka no. 607, was later made by Dugan Glass Co., c 1901-08. With beautiful subtle white opalescence, this fine bowl has 4 feet, & is probably a card receiver, based on its size: 6 7/8" wide x 3" tall. It glows yellow under UV light, with no obvious damage. Measure: 4 ½" wide x 2 ½" tall. There are more contemporary attempts at reproduction. But I believe that this is original & old, with the characteristic flat end beads as seen in the design of the originals (see photos). Please see my other ad for 2 smaller bowls in the same pattern. Art: Mercury silvered candlestick grape & leaves etch
I love these old silvered items; they are so unusual. A mercury concoction was swished around inside the hollow blown candlestick to make the glass look like real silver. It was then sealed to protect the interior coating from deterioration. When I got this stick, the hole on the bottom was open. So there is some deterioration of the silvering at the base (looks speckly); not really bad considering its age. I put in a make-do cork to prevent further damage. But the cork sticks out a bit, allowing for some tippiness on the table…it should be replaced. Otherwise in super condition, with no chips or cracks. Measures 7 ½" tall; there is an ornate grapes & leaves double (!) etching from top to bottom. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #423
