Wedgwood: Stonehenge Midwinter Wild Oats Dinner Serv for 12 MINT
This is a complete service for 12 of Wedgwood’s timeless "Oven to Dishwasher" safe stoneware, made in England. The background color is a warm oatmeal, with sprigs of wild oats in brown as the main motif. See photos for label & pedigree. There are place settings of 5 pieces each for 12 people. Each setting consists of: a large dinner plate, medium size luncheon or dessert plate, soup bowl, mug & saucer. There are 4 serving pieces: a large oval platter, large bowl, creamer, & a sugar with a dome lid. I bought this set new, about 30 years ago. After a few months in a cupboard, it spent most of its life packed in a box. There is no damage; it is shiney & clean like new. Unfortunately, I don’t have the original packing, and it is VERY heavy. I have the set in northwest Connecticut, about 2 hrs north of NYC. You can pick it up, or we can talk about other possible arrangements for delivery. #177

Yellowware Rockingham lrg Cuspidor w profiles & scrolls
An unusual cuspidor or spittoon, with a mottled complex brown & yellow glaze over a yellow base. Not marked, but possibly of English origin. This is not my area of big knowledge, but I was taken by both the color & the design, which consists of 2 repeats of a hatted man’s profile within a beaded oval, surrounded by ornate scrolls. He looks to be a representation of a person from very early times, as in DaVinci. I believe that this is "yellow ware," possibly going back to around 1849-90 (found conflicting dates)...perhaps even earlier?? Measures 8 1/8" wide x 4 ½" tall. The exit hole is slightly off square, appearing to be hand cut. There is a chip on one edge. There is a significant crack across the middle top area with some loss of glaze (photo shows some of the area). No cracks on the sides or base, although the base shows lots of crazing. Crown Staffordshire: 3 gamebird plates w gold
Originally a set of 4, the 3 remaining plates command attention on their own, with their vividly colored, life-like renderings of the game birds! Measuring 5 ¼" square with a gold edge, there is no damage. Marked: Crown Staffordshire, England, Est 1801, under each plate. I identified the birds as best I could, & came up with: Gray Partridge, Ring-Necked Pheasant, & Blue Grouse (?). Exceptional Sitzendorf double salt girl on baskets
Wonderful hand-painted detail on this colorful German, Meissen-style double salt. A pretty girl with striped skirt, a flowered hat, & red shoes, sits astride 2 flower baskets, holding a single flower in her left hand. The piece is marked in blue under the glaze (see photo). My research attributes this mark to Sitzendorfer Porzellen-fabrik Gebruder Voigt, 1858-1896. There is another place under the base where a second mark looks to have been scratched off. I could not get a clue as to what was in that 2nd section. This is not my area of primary interest, so please look at the photos & make an intelligent judgement for yourself. I have had this piece for quite some time. What attracted me most, was the detailed painting of each individual hair in the girl’s eyebrows! And, of course, her gold trimmed red shoes. Base measures 4" x 2 ½"; 4 ¾" tall. No damage. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #462

Bone China: RS Germany 6 berry dishes with Rugosa Roses
Absolutely breath-taking, these delicate, translucent china sauce or berry dishes have a fine transfer pattern of a pink-tinged Rugosa Rose with moss green highlights on a cream background. The gold edges are intact, with little sign of use. There is no crazing or cracking. The only thing to note is a short edge crack UNDER the glaze on one, & roughness under the table rim of 2 of these, more to feel than to see. These are marked R.S. Germany, with a star & laurel leaf, & measure about 5 ¼" wide x 1 ¼" height. Made from 1917-1945. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 3 lbs. from 06068. #147

TEAPOT salts, Royal Stuart white w blue rosebuds *cute
This is a pair of glazed china salt & pepper shakers in the shape of a teapot. They are white with delicately embossed flowers at the shoulders, a stamped blue rosebud on each side, & painted gold trim on the top, handles & under the spouts. Very cute. One has 2 holes on top; one has 4 holes. Underneath are stamped in gold: Royal Stuart, Bone China, Made in England, and R81008. The latter I believe means the year of manufacture was c 1937. Height to tip of spout is 1 ½". There is no damage, no crazing, chips, or discolorations. The gold is all intact, although it is not well seen in some of the photos. There are plastic plugs in the holes under the base. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 1 lbs. from 06068. #120-A
