Primitives: Early 16 candle tin mold with handle
Unusual 16 hole taper candle mold; square shaped top and base; tin metal with single handle. This well used 19th century utilitarian mold measures about 10" in height, with a width at the base of 5 ˝". There are bends, rust spots, and some wicks stuck in the holes (see photos). Though slightly tippy on the table, the construction is still sturdy; original weld lines and folded corners give insight into method of mold making. Fascinating, wonderful period décor item, in the unusual size of 16 candles, not 6 or 12! Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 4 lbs. from 06068. #283

Primitives: Unusual zinc coated Copper sieve or strainer
Very different old zinc coated copper sieve or strainer. Copper handle has a double rivet attachment. Minor areas of oxidation; rivets are firm. Bowl area is 5 ˝" wide x 2" deep; overall length is 7 ˝". I am not very familiar with early metalware, but can tell you that this came with some glassware that dates to the early 19th century. This item could be older! See also the nice hammered copper/zinc pan that was in the same lot. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 3 lbs. from 06068. #285

Yellowware Rockingham lrg Cuspidor w profiles & scrolls
An unusual cuspidor or spittoon, with a mottled complex brown & yellow glaze over a yellow base. Not marked, but possibly of English origin. This is not my area of big knowledge, but I was taken by both the color & the design, which consists of 2 repeats of a hatted man’s profile within a beaded oval, surrounded by ornate scrolls. He looks to be a representation of a person from very early times, as in DaVinci. I believe that this is "yellow ware," possibly going back to around 1849-90 (found conflicting dates)...perhaps even earlier?? Measures 8 1/8" wide x 4 ˝" tall. The exit hole is slightly off square, appearing to be hand cut. There is a chip on one edge. There is a significant crack across the middle top area with some loss of glaze (photo shows some of the area). No cracks on the sides or base, although the base shows lots of crazing.
