Glass - Fenton

EAPG (Early American Pattern/Pressed Glass) is my passion. I study & collect EAPG. Sometimes an interesting Depression or foreign glass piece will catch my eye; some items in other materials such as silver, pewter, or pottery can appear here too...thus the "plus." The Victorian period is so fascinating, & in many ways mirrors our lives today.

I rotate pieces as I grow in knowledge or if I think you'd appreciate them more than me. And since this wonder of superheated sand (glass) continues to take over my “space,” I’ve always got some to offer: why not finish off your authentic decor with period glassware? Feel free to ask questions or inquire about wanted items which might not be listed.

Be sure to check back for new additions & an occasional “Rarest of the Rare” in EAPG. Some of these pieces have been documented, but are so uncommon that they’ve rarely or never been photographed for publication!

Everything is clean with meticulous descriptions of condition, & I package well. See ebay feedback for ger55.

Thanks,
Ger

394
EAPG: Fenton: Little Fishes footed nut bowl c 1915 Neat little old Fenton nut bowl with 3 feet, in a pattern called Little Fishes, aka #1607. Cute bowl with koi, fish, trout (?) circling amidst water fronds. Measures 5 ¾ inches wide x 2 inches tall. 1 minor nick to the to rim; shearline in the center, & glows yellow under UV light, consistent with age. According to Fenton 1st 25 years (Heacock), this is dated by the feet to be c 1915. From 1910-20’s, there were no feet, but rather, what is called a marie, a flat rounded piece on which the bowl sat. So…early Fenton collectors, here’s an old one for you. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #394

Fenton for DeVilbiss: Leaf pattern white opal perfume bottle This French white opalescent perfume bottle with original stopper was made by Fenton for DeVilbiss in 1941, & again in 1949. It matches an atomizer which has the same base pattern, but I’ve been told that the perfume is more desirable. Aka Panache, a name given to it by Heacock before its proper ID was determined. In good light, edges show a fiery opalescence. Height is 4 ½". Nice condition except for what looks like a repaired chip on one shoulder. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #340

Depression: Early Fenton Dolphin handled candle dish This unusual candle holder is in the shape of a boat, with the candle cup in the center. The main pattern is of alternating panels of relief wavy seaweed & frosted straight seaweed. There are 2 tiny dolphin handles on either end. Made by Fenton no. 1621, in 1928-36, there is a manufacturer ground base. A subtle crack in one side of one handle where the dolphin attaches is difficult to see. I tried to picture it, but only by turning the piece over & at different angles can one get the suggestion of a crack. I’m not even sure if this piece didn’t come from the factory that way! Measures 6 ½" long x 4 1/8" wide x 2 ¾" tall. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #357

Fenton: Rare Vaseline Jonquil Yellow bowl *NMint Super high-relief hexagonal bowl by Fenton, made in the color Jonquil Yellow (JO) for only one year, 1968-69! Color is a very bright yellow, semi-translucent, but shiney. It is uranium glass (vaseline), which glows brightly under UV. It is heavy & in near-mint condition, with just the slightest bit of scuffing inside. The design consists of 3 different floral panels repeated 2 times. Described as "Fenton from Verlys molds" in Heacock’s 3rd 25 years, the shape, hexagonal bowlware #8226 can be seen on pg. 92, & the color on pg. 96. Truly a unique, unusual, eye-catching bowl, or jardinier perhaps. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with free Delivery Confirmation, 6 lbs. from 06068. #DDD
