Glass - Opalescent Glass

EAPG (Early American Pattern/Pressed Glass) is my passion. I study & collect EAPG. Sometimes an interesting Depression or foreign glass piece will catch my eye; some items in other materials such as silver, pewter, or pottery can appear here too...thus the "plus." The Victorian period is so fascinating, & in many ways mirrors our lives today.

I rotate pieces as I grow in knowledge or if I think you'd appreciate them more than me. And since this wonder of superheated sand (glass) continues to take over my “space,” I’ve always got some to offer: why not finish off your authentic decor with period glassware? Feel free to ask questions or inquire about wanted items which might not be listed.

Be sure to check back for new additions & an occasional “Rarest of the Rare” in EAPG. Some of these pieces have been documented, but are so uncommon that they’ve rarely or never been photographed for publication!

Everything is clean with meticulous descriptions of condition, & I package well. See ebay feedback for ger55.

Thanks,
Ger

Fenton for DeVilbiss: Leaf pattern white opal perfume bottle This French white opalescent perfume bottle with original stopper was made by Fenton for DeVilbiss in 1941, & again in 1949. It matches an atomizer which has the same base pattern, but I’ve been told that the perfume is more desirable. Aka Panache, a name given to it by Heacock before its proper ID was determined. In good light, edges show a fiery opalescence. Height is 4 ˝". Nice condition except for what looks like a repaired chip on one shoulder. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #340

EAPG: Dugan’s Inverted Fan & Feather white opal bowl 7” Originally made by Northwood in custard, Inverted Fan & Feather, aka no. 607, was later made by Dugan Glass Co., c 1901-08. With beautiful subtle white opalescence, this fine bowl has 4 feet, & is probably a card receiver, based on its size: 6 7/8" wide x 3" tall. It glows yellow under UV light, with no obvious damage. Measure: 4 ˝" wide x 2 ˝" tall. There are more contemporary attempts at reproduction. But I believe that this is original & old, with the characteristic flat end beads as seen in the design of the originals (see photos). Please see my other ad for 2 smaller bowls in the same pattern. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #405

EAPG: Dugan’s Inverted Fan & Feather 2 sml footed opal bowls Originally made by Northwood in custard, Inverted Fan & Feather, aka no. 607, was later made by Dugan Glass Co., c 1901-08. Beautiful subtle white or bluish-white opalescence, both bowls have 4 feet & are trimmed in gold. One bowl is clear; one is faintly blue-gray (the one on the right)! One has a more distinct edge pattern (blue-gray one); the other is smoother. One glows yellow under UV light (blue-gray one); the other does not. In near-mint condition, with some wear of the gold & old stress lines at the top, only the 2nd bowl has a small nick to a top scallop. Measure: 4 ˝" wide x 2 ˝" tall. There are more contemporary attempts at reproduction. But I believe that these are original & old, with the characteristic flat end beads as seen in the design of the originals (see photos). Please see my other listing for a larger bowl in the same pattern. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with Delivery Confirmation, 2 lbs. from 06068. #406
