EAPG: Westward Ho! Original butter dish Indian buffalo c 1879
This is the footed butter in the figural pattern, Westward Ho!, OMN Pioneer, by my favorite EAPG manufacturer, Gillinder & Sons of Philadelphia, c 1879. Showing a 3 dimensional kneeling Indian as the finial, a bison, stag, & old log cabin with sweep well complete the very American design around the sides! Although this popular pattern has a history of many copies, this is an original piece! It measures 7" across x 9" tall. The lid has a small chip to the Indian’s feather, a bruise on the back of his cape, & a small lid edge flake. The base, however, has a number of chips & flakes on the scalloped edge. Most are under the scallops. Still, a lovely old piece, with the superb detail that is found only on original Gillinder work! Please see photos. Price reflects damage. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 5 lbs. from 06068. #432
