Manufacturer: Flint Glass Though not true flint, this brilliant clear high quality blown in mold (BIM) flip glass was made in limited edition for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MMA, by Imperial Glass 1982. Has rows of plain, diagonal swirl, diamond diapering, vertical rounded ribbing; similar to McKearin GII-18 (?); pontil & MMA under base. 6" ht. It’s almost impossible to find the originals after which these are modeled, probably because they were so fragile. The originals date back prior to pressed glass, 1825 or earlier! Comes with a copy of an old recipe for a yard of flannel, a drink with ale, eggs, etc. Originally, a hot poker was put into the liquid in the container in order to warm the contents…quick hot drinks the old way! NO damage. #101 Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 3 lbs. from 06068.
