Gorgeous set of 6 (SIX) English transferware plates, 8 5/8 inches in diameter; Royal Doulton, Hampshire, pattern # D.6141 made from 1940-1961. Hand tinted colors of pink, purple, gold, green, & rusty red, enhance a transfer picture of an ornate compote with fruits & flowers, & a bird hovering over. Marked on the back with a Crowned Lion standing on a crown; Made in England. Royal Doulton. From an original drawing by Cutts circa 1840 is stamped on the back. There are also various green markings under each plate on the back (some numbers). There are a few very light minor surface scratches, but no chips or crazing. Beautiful set. Any extraneous pink on photos is just a reflection. Plates are a warm white. Listed on Replacements for $18 each!
