Interesting small compote, with some lead content. There is a ping, but not as high pitched as pure flint. I believe that this may be a (flint/soda lime) transition piece. Made with a wafer, there are double prisms in the main part of the bowl, & a swirl pattern in the bowl base. The bowl is joined to the 8 columned stem with a hot wafer. Measures 7 3/8" wide x 4 ¼" high. Mild roughness along upper inner mold line; broken surface bubble under inner part of foot. Guesstimated to be c 1870-90. Any off-color is a reflection; glass is clear & bright. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 3 lbs. from 06068. #253 |
