By the size and shape of this small covered dish, it most likely is a covered salt. Although it also resembles a child's sugar, I could find no reference to Portieux making toy table sets. Marked "Portieux" in relief under the base, piece stands 4 ¼" tall and is without damage! Excellent, & cute, with diamonds & spearheads motif, similar to early pressed American pieces; substantial weight for its size. I did not locate this in my collection of Portieux catalogs, so cannot give an accurate date of production. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 1 lbs. from 06068. #240
