| Very heavy, *Mint condition leaded glass ashtray has 4 notches for cigarettes on the top edge. The design is nearly flawless, with a large complex central hobstar, and rows of hobstars radiating from the center as the dominant pattern. In books, the closest patterns I could find were a cut glass Heisey clock, which was made c 1940, and the pattern Panel by TG Hawkes from 1909. Elsewhere, I found contemporary Bohemian cut glass which is in this style, and believe this to be the most likely origin! But whatever the origin, the piece is well-executed, and on heavy leaded sparkling crystal. Measures 8" in diameter; height 2" 28 point hobstar in the center. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 7 lbs. from 06068. #298 |
