| I believe that this may be the large cheese dome lid (only) in the pattern, Cord Drapery, by Greentown Glass, c 1899-1903, later Indiana Glass #350. This is larger & different from the butter, requiring a flat underplate with upturned edges (see Hilton, pg. 82). Measures 6 3/8" wide x 5" tall. Unfortunately, the cheese dish is so rare in this pattern, that no one (so far), has been able to verify what the edge of the cheese lid actually looks like! I do know that the base of the cheese dish is 7" across, and that allowing for a bit of clearance on either side, this lid would fit quite well and has the correct shape for a cheese. It has a small notch under the edge...an unusual piece! Bright, brilliant, with no chips or cracks. Some brown staining of unknown origin is noted around the neck of the finial at the high areas of the design. Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority, with Delivery Confirmation, 4 lbs. from 06068. #393 |
