Enjoy scrolling through EAPG (Early American Pattern/Pressed Glass), along with other vintage glass, pottery, silver, pewter, old coins, collector books, cylinder records, etc. New unused, precious and semi-precious gem jewelry, STERLING, gold-filled or plate, and older costume jewelry will be added as it is sorted.
See below (About us) for the big picture! I am strictly a collector, not an expert, and I don't buy large lots of material.
Glass (EAPG) is my focus, but I also inherited a lot of "stuff" from my parents, much of it collected in the 1950's-1960's (semi-antique), and much of their material dating back to the Victorian era. My father loved lots of "old" things, often recounting fond memories associated with them. It's taking a long time, but I will slowly add interesting items, along with photos and as much history as I know about them.
Only large items such as furniture, rugs, phonographs, etc., are not practical for this venue. However, if you are local to northwest CT, and can pick-up an item, feel free to email and inquire.
Thanks,
Ger |

Lemon pudding best describes the color of this pretty yellow basket. It has an overall diamond pattern, appears to be pressed with an applied handle. The scalloped foot has 5 black marks on either side. These are consistent with an old manufacture technique using SNAPS, metal holders for working on glass when hot. There is a 20 point star under the foot. Measures about 7 ½ inches tall x 6 3/8 inches long x 5 inches wide. No after-market damage; no chips or cracks.
Glows brightly under a UV lamp, true uranium glass.
I could not find this in my references. However, Measell, in Imperial Glass, vol. 1, pg 72, states that throughout its history, Imperial made a lot of pressed baskets with applied handles! Certainly not proof, but a good suggestion for beginning a search if you collect baskets or vaseline, OR glass which looks like it belongs in a pie! Buyer to pay for shipping by USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, 3 lbs. from 06068. #373 |
