This is a digital reproduction of a drawing done by a field artist during the Civil War (1861-1865). The title of this print is 'The War in Virginia-Contrabands Coming into the Federal Camp' and depicts a wagon and oxen bringing a negro family into 'the Promised Land'.
The piece is reproduced (computer digitized) in sepia tone to bring out the rich details of the artists sketch. All work is done with archival, acid-free and museum-quality products (both ink and paper) in order to preserve the work for future generations. The print is 16 inch X 20 inch matted.
